So far in the book of Mark, Mark has established Jesus is the Son of God by his own testimony, by the prophecy of Isaiah, by the testimony of John the Baptist, and the proclamation of God Himself declaring Jesus is the Son of God. In short, if Jesus is not the Son of God then there is know salvation. Salvation belongs to God not us. Now Mark begins to show us by the life Jesus lived that He is the Son of God. He started this last week with Jesus being tempted. Adam and Eve failed the test in the Garden, Israel failed the test in wilderness, but Jesus did not fail the test in the wilderness, proving He is the sinless Son of God doing what no other person has been able to do.
