6/23/24 - The Worth of our Salvation

If there is anything we have learned from these first 9 verses, it’s that Peter is writing to a people oppressed and facing trials (whether by Jews or the gentiles), as exiles and foreigners awaiting for the day that they are at home with Christ. The language of the land seems foreign to them, the culture is at odds with them, the exalted persons and ideas are worth nothing in the eternal things of God to them. And in writing to these people, Peter is building up in them a confident hope in the God that has saved them.

3. Up to this point, verses 1-9 have been one train of thought for Peter, and in verses 10-12, he is going to finish this thought for us by illuminating the worth of this salvation, of this one Man for us.
