6/30/24 - How should we respond to God’s Salvation

Peter wrote about a salvation that is created by God, initiated by God, provided by God, and kept by God. A salvation for us who were dead in trespasses and sin, for us who are not good, no not one is good, a salvation for us who had no way to save ourselves. If God does not provide this salvation, we are destined to suffer the wrath of God forever. But He provided it through his son, living perfectly for us and dying in our place and God raising him from the dead. This salvation the prophets wrote about, then studied to try to understand it, yet believed it fully, and the Angels long to look at it. No wonder Jesus said, everyone that comes to me, I will give them rest. Because Jesus ascended to the Father and has sat down, having finished the work of Salvation, you and I can sit down to rest knowing the work is complete.

The remainder of this letter is instructions on how we should respond to such a great salvation.
