6/9/24 - God’s Promise & Power to Keep Us While We Are Exiled From Home
As we look at 1 Peter, I want to be clear that he is not writing to a group of people who are suffering as the open door describes. The persecution of Nero has not begun. But he is writing to a group of people that he calls exiles in verse one.
Peter writes this letter to us who feel like we lived in a place where we knew the language, we knew the culture and every day we wake up, it is like we wake up in a foreign land. In a place that we do not understand the conversations, in a place we do not understand the culture, in a place that does not feel like home. Peter is writing to us, so that we may know how to live in a way that honors God in a place that is not our home while we wait for Jesus to come and take us home.
