We have looked at these verses every week since we started this letter. We see Peter is reminding us of what is important while he is on death role. I am reminding you of these qualities. What qualities is he talking about? Faith, Goodness, Knowledge, Self Control, Perseverance, Godliness, Brotherly Affection, Love. After our service last week someone came to me and said, as I was looking at the ladder, I realized I like to skip steps. At that moment it was like God said, that is you Chris. I told you last week that I seem to walk up and down the steps of Self Control, Perseverance and Godliness. I kept looking at that as I was preaching and thinking to myself, I feel like I love. But if I am skipping steps is my love what God wants it to be. I do not feel like we can walk away from the ladder this morning. We need to look at it closer.
