The truth is, we are in a sanctification process. It is not instant when we believe the gospel and begin following. It is a process that takes years. The affirmation that we belong to Christ is that we are becoming like Christ.  In verses 1-4 Peter has revealed to us that God has done His part, and we have an inexhaustible well for life and godliness. But you and I play a part in this. I believe Peter shows us this morning that God has given us everything we need, but we also have responsibility. It is all God has given us, and it is our responsibility for us to become like Christ.
