Last week was Palm Sunday leading us to the cross, from Palm Sunday to the cross was a week of betrayals and denials and the changing of words from hosanna to crucify him. That week feels without hope, much like the thought that we cannot tame our tongue. Just like the Resurrection of Jesus gives us great hope, without the resurrection there is no hope, James gives us great hope for out tongues today.

Now James begins to make sense of our hypocritical tongue. He does this by teaching us about two different kinds of wisdom. Wisdom that comes from this world, or our culture. And wisdom that comes from Heaven.
