Do not be surprised when suffering comes. For believers it is not a matter of if but when. When the Spirit of God placed us into Christ, He placed us into His death, into His resurrection, and into His suffering. It is a guarantee for one who follows Christ. Peter calls it a fiery trial. It means it is uncomfortable, it is painful, it is not easy. Suffering for Jesus is not having your best life now. It is not strange; it is common in the lives of those who follow Jesus.
