What Peter teaches us today is how to live as a chosen race, royal priesthood, holy nation, God’s own possession and as an exile at the same time. What does it practically look like for us to live in a place that puts us to shame or to death, though we are not really experiencing this, those who are a part of us are.

Some would say the culture is gone, there is no hope, let’s separate ourselves from them. Let’s live somewhere in a place of utopia.

Others would say let’s change the culture, send politicians that have our values, train our children in such a way that the next generation will lead us well.

Others may say let’s put together a rebellion, enough is enough.

This is a practical question; it is not a philosophy to be discussed.
