We find Peter sitting on death roll with an overwhelming stirring in his heart from the Spirit to write these words to the church. What he was stirred about was false teachers who deny the truth. Whose teaching does not produce godly living. Whose teaching denies the coming of Christ and promotes living anyway you want because the Lord is not returning as he said he would. This first chapter is a must for fighting off these false teachers.
